Revision assisted by AI

Üriel’s work on this file involved an artificial intelligence in revisiting the encyclopaedia’s content. Additions signed in November 2024 include GPT-DUNE. This work extends an existing compilation: the original book remains attributed to Willis E. McNelly, while later interventions are distinct contributions.

Connecting two timelines

Chronological additions introduce contemporary reference points related to artificial intelligence and the creation of Confédération S-Д.holdings. Their purpose is to bring the present into conversation with a long fictional timeline: placing identifiable events in a wider chronology to examine the paradigm shift associated with them.

This connection is an editorial and prospective choice. The world of Dune already incorporates intelligent machines into its history; the contemporary additions offer a new reading of that relationship without claiming that the original work precisely predicted today’s AI.

Towards a collaborative encyclopaedia

The approach proposes an online collaborative space where readers can contribute and expand the encyclopaedia. Its aim is to turn a reference work into a living corpus shaped by contributions and AI assistance. The PDF presented here gives access to the document and to this platform proposal.

These contributions inform the cultural work of Dune University: exploring relationships between technology, institutions, power and human evolution through a fictional universe.
